Kilińskiego 33 is a renovated building in 2021. Reinhold Finster's tenement house from 1891
BUILDING:
The building was designed in 1891 by the renowned architect from Łódź, Kazimierz Sokołowski. The construction was completed in the nineteenth century. It is entered in the Municipal Register of Monuments of the City of Lodz under number 304. The interior is dominated by original brick, restored massive wooden jambs, wooden steps, an antique railing and unique windows of the staircase. The courtyard of Kilińskiego 33 has been redesigned, although the entrance to it is opened by a 130-year-old restored massive wooden gate from 1891.
The artistic value of the building was appreciated by director Andrzej Wajda - the interiors and the facade of the tenement house were still shots from the 2016 film "Afterimages", which screened the biography of Władysław Strzemiński, an outstanding painter from Łódź.
