Kilińskiego 33 is a restored tenement house of Reinhold Finster - one of the most outstanding manufacturers in Łódź, the owner of the largest Plush and Carpet Manufactory in the Kingdom of Poland.
The building was designed in 1891 by the renowned architect from Łódź, Kazimierz Sokołowski. The construction was completed in the nineteenth century. The tenement house is entered in the Municipal Heritage Register of the City of Łódź under number 304. The artistic value of the building was appreciated by the director Andrzej Wajda - the interiors and facade of the tenement house were shots from the 2016 film "Powidoki", which screened the biography of the eminent Łódź painter Władysław Strzemiński.
We keep beautiful historic decorations - the old 130-year-old gate, the restored massive jambs in the staircases, we are renovating the old brick. We use high-quality materials and the best practices in the restoration of architecture, stucco and historic details under the supervision of the Lodz Conservator of Monuments. The interiors are dominated by original brick, restored massive wooden jambs, wooden steps, an antique railing and unique staircase windows. The courtyard of Kilińskiego 33 has been redesigned, although the entrance to it is opened by a 130-year-old restored massive wooden gate from 1891. The floor is finished with granite cubes, varied spot lighting has been designed, the whole is complemented by greenery and elements of wooden architecture.
